Immediately, I know what I’ll write about. It will be stunning. It will be heartfelt. My words will sing off the page and…
LO! Stump.
Big. Fat. Non-Juicy. Block.
What? This never happens to be. I am the world’s greatest waffler. I can blather on forever about anything especially when I am able to choose my own topic. I should be whizzing through this.
In desperation, and only after selling furniture on Facebook, redesigning my ‘About Me’ page and writing an ENTIRE EBOOK, I hit Google. During my research on how the creative brain works, I come across this magnificent website. The diagram especially made me laugh really loud (sorry; startled cat) and then put me at ease. Because, of course, I was going to get to that end goal. I JUST HAD TO START.
The graphics are spot on. But this was even better: “Over the years, scientists have attempted to capture the personality of creative people. But it hasn’t been easy putting them under the microscope. As psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, who has interviewed creative people across various fields points out, creative people “show tendencies of thought and action that in most people are segregated. They contain contradictory extremes; instead of being an “individual,” each of them is a “multitude.””
That’s it. I am a multitude. My mind is beautiful. I write my blog.
Please do visit Grafika Studio to read my guest blog on The Business of Beauty Making. I urge you to spend some time travailing Rosa’s site while you are visiting as she creates from the heart. You’ll recognise a fellow beauty hunter as soon as you arrive.
*Warning.* The visual content in the Creativity blog does have some curse words (only the kind that would make my 11 year old look shocked) but the site is still spot on.
